MaxFoot MF-17 vs Chargebikes Comfort 2 Step-Thru Electric Bike

MaxFoot MF-17 vs Chargebikes Comfort 2 Step-Thru Electric Bike

Electric bikes are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional vehicles that run on fossil fuels. They produce zero emissions, making them a sustainable and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

Among various e-bike models in the market, two popular options include the MaxFoot MF-17 and the Chargebikes Comfort 2 Step-Thru.

So, if you’re interested in buying any of these two, then read through this article, as we will take a closer look at each bike and compare them in terms of motor performance, mileage, suspension, affordability, and comfort.

All electric vehicles source energy from the electric motor, which is an engine alternative. So the performance, top speed, and acceleration are dependent on the power of the motor.

The MaxFoot MF-17 boasts a brushless 750W hub motor, which takes it to a top speed of  28 mph. This power is sufficient to carry it through difficult terrain with ease.

On the other hand, Comfort 2 comes equipped with a 250 W Bafang motor, which is a moderate-power motor. It is not as powerful as MF-17’s motor but does the job for casual riders. You can easily enjoy a top speed of 20 mph with it.

Battery Capacity and Range

After the motor, the battery is the second most important component people are interested in. Since these vehicles lack fuel, their mileage or range is dependent on the battery size. The larger the battery, the more travel range the vehicle will provide.

MF-17 has a 17AH, 48-volt battery, which can provide you a range between 45 to 55 miles. That’s a decent range with a such powerful motor. While Chargebikes Comfort 2 has a 36-volt 11.6 A lithium-ion battery and claims a longer range of 50 miles. So, both bikes offer a similar range.

Design and Comfort

Both the MaxFoot MF-17 and the Charge bikes Comfort 2 Step-Thru are designed with comfort in mind. Both bikes are built from the lightweight 6061 aluminum frame. However, the design and battery positions are slightly different in both cases.

MF-17 has a pair of down tubes running to the seat tube, which ultimately has the battery. Whereas, the battery is placed on the rear rack, above the tires.

The MF-17 features fat tires and a front suspension fork, providing a comfortable ride on a variety of terrains. The Comfort 2 has a step-thru frame design that makes it easy for riders to mount and dismount the bike and also has a comfortable saddle and ergonomic handlebars.

Suspension and Tires

The MaxFoot MF-17 comes equipped with a front suspension fork that helps absorb shocks and vibrations, providing a comfortable ride. The Chargebikes Comfort 2 Step-Thru does not have suspension instead a solid and rigid fork in the front.

The two bikes also differ in their tires. Maxfoot has standard 26 x 4 ″ tires, which it universally adds across all its models. However, Comfort 20 has larger but slightly thinner Goodyear tires measuring 27.5 x 2.6″. They are puncture resistant and have reflective strips which make the bike visible on roads. The best feature is the automatic tire pressure sensor on both tires, which gives a red alert when air pressure falls below the standard limit.

The MaxFoot MF-17 is priced at around $1,595, while the Chargebikes Comfort 2 Step-Thru is priced at around $1,899. Comfort 2 is slightly more expensive than its counterpart. However, both bikes offer great value for their price and provide a reliable and comfortable ride.
